Brain and spinal cord floating frozen sections are specifically made for immunostaining in culture dishes. Brains and spinal cord of CD1 (ICR) mice are fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin, cryoprotected in sucrose solution, snapped frozen in OCT, and sectioned in coronal, sagittal, or horizontal orientation at 30-50microns.
Frozen thick sections are shipped in 6- or 12-well culture plates (one section per each well) on dry ice. Sections are good for several months from the date of shipping if stored properly. Frozen floating thick sections of mice perifused with 4% paraformeldehyde or 10% neutral buffered formalin are also available upon request.
