Rat Brain Paraffin Sections

Zyagen offers paraffin sections of many regions/areas of rat brain in coronal, sagittal, and horizontal orientations. Brains are fixed in 10% buffered formalin, embedded in paraffin, sectioned at a thickness of 5-7microns and mounted on positively charged slides.  Paraffin sections of brains from rats perifused with 4% paraformaldehyde or buffered formalin are also available upon request, contact technical service for availabilty.

Tissue sections are routinely made of Sprgue Dawley rat brains but we can also make tissue sections of other rat strains (inbred, outbred, mutant, hybrid, transgenic) upon request.

Paraffin sections are shipped in tightly closed slide boxes or slide mailers at room temperature and are good for one year if properly stored.

Applications: Paraffin tissue sections are prepared in RNase-, protease-free environment and are ideal for immunohistochemistry and  in situ hybridization.
